New developments
New exciting things are happening in the Filetopia scene. A new version is being actively developed (first beta is already out and a new beta will be out soon). Also, a new Torrentopia version was just released with interesting improvements www.torrentopia.org

Server change
To improve the server capacity, we've moved the registration servers to a faster location. This will have a side effect for current users, you may experience difficulties to see your personal messages, to fix this:

Version 3.04
Improves the user registration, voice chat, adds new web protocols.
Fixes a number of things found in the last version, including a chat exploit that was being used to attack channels.

A new Linux FAQ to run Filetopia
Goddag has made a detailed FAQ with a ready-to-run configuration file so you can get started very fast with linux and WINE.

FT Multitool
Shift just launched a new version of this great utility for FT users.
It permits the automatic installation of several language files and also moves settings from one version of Filetopia to another.

Version 3.0
The long awaited version is finally here.
With an almost total rewrite, this is a new Filetopia.
A new decentralized network, multi-source swarmed downloads, automatic file retrieval, a new user interface, faster and more reliable protocols, multi-language support... are just a few of the many new features of this version.

A new search engine, extensive support for firewalled users and a novice mode to reduce the learning curve for novice users with many help sources.

Linux users can run Filetopia
Thanks to the efforts of a filetopia user: kefka, now users of linux have a howto about making Filetopia work under linux.

E-mail gateway for Filetopia users
From now on, all Filetopia users will be able to send and receive e-mails from inside Filetopia.
By using the instant-messaging you can especify any e-mail address and your message will be delivered, and from any e-mail client, you can receive mail to: Username@filetopia.com.

Version 1.40
Maintenance release with general improvements in all the protocols -much faster now- and a few interesting new features: A DCC Chat and firewall detection code that will allow chatting with users behind firewalls.Animation and Text-to-speech support using Ms-Agent technology.The file server now includes: roll-back in restored downloads and speed dependant block sizes.

Version 1.30
A security update. This version changes the encryption system from commercial components to a freeware library. This has two advantages: Now you have 10 top-class algorithms to choose from and you can also verify it's source code.

Another important additions are the support for Bouncers and the use of public key techniques in the chat.

Version 1.1 is out
This version features a improved messaging system with message history support, improved help, tens of details corrected or improved.   This version brings new functionality and it is more stable.
